ITINERARY

Days 1-2 | Kathmandu
Arriving in Kathmandu, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. We will have a meeting in the evening followed by an included welcome dinner. On day 2 we will set off early for a full-day guided tour of Kathmandu, seeing the highlights of this colorful city.

Days 3-5 | Lukla to Namche Bazaar
An amazing flight on small prop plane a will take us from Kathmandu to Lukla, the starting point of our trek. The views from this flight are legendary. We begin our trek this very day, heading to Phakding where we stop for the night. The next day we hike on to Namche Bazaar, which is the outpost hub of the region and important trading centre with its bustling market. On day 4 we have a free day in Namche to adjust to our higher altitude. Relax, look around the market or join us on an excursion to a picturesque Buddhist monastery set against the backdrop of Ama Dablam, Everest and other giant, snowcapped peaks.


Days 6-8 | Namche to Chhukung Valley
We continue our trek and are welcomed back to business with stunning views of the mountains spread out among us. We have a lovely mix of all the sights as we trek along; forests, rivers, stupas decorated with prayer flags, and of course all of this to the backdrop of the majestic peaks. Everest now rises royally before us. On day 7 we have our second acclimatization day in the Chhukung Valley where we have the opportunity to take a leisurely hike up to a summer settlement which has some of the most noteworthy views of the entire trek


Days 9-11 | Chhukung Valley to Everest Base Camp
Our trekking on days 9 through 11 will be the most challenging of the expedition. Above the tree-line the scenery is stark but spectacular. Toward the end of the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier the path steepens. The hard work pays off when we reach our summit and revel in the breathtaking views. This is what you came all this way for! After taking the time to let it all soak in we head back to a lower altitude at Lobuche where we stay for the night.


Days 12-14 | Lobuche to Lukla
We continue on our descent from Lobuche to Pangboche with its beautiful monastery, where we stop for the night. We trace our steps back down through Namche Bazaar and Phakding en route to Lukla.


Days 15-17 | Kathmandu
We fly back to Kathmandu on day 15. Day 16 can be used as an extra day, in case of flight delays out of Lukla due to bad weather. If all goes as planned this day is a free day in Kathmandu and yours to relax, do some last minute shopping and our final dinner together. Day 17 is departure day and you are free to depart at any time you like; just let us know your flight details and we’ll arrange for your included transfer to the airport.

Accommodation :
4 nights comfortable hotel (twin share) in Kathmandu, 12 nights local teahouses while trekking (twin or multishare). The tea houses are a great way of life in the mountains - and all are local family owned.

Meals Included :
17 breakfasts, 11 lunches and 11 dinners. All meals are included while trekking, while in Kathmandu and Namche Bazaar (acclimatisation day) their are plenty of good restaurants to choose from- we will show you all the great spots.

Days Trekking :

Trekking Conditions :
Everest Base Camp Trek is a Grade 5 expedition involving altitudes of over 5000m. The trek to Everest Base Camp is strenuous but does not require that you have any previous trekking or technical climbing experience it is only required that you be in good physical condition and are able to hike for 5-7 hours per day over hilly terrain with a light day pack.
